The Gators came alive late after a slow start to defeat Central Michigan 7-3 in their regional opener on Friday night.

All of the ingredients seem to be coming together for the Gators to make a deep postseason run, but they're going to try to keep their focus on the task at hand, starting with Friday night's regional opener against Central Michigan.

The No. 13 national seed Gators will welcome Oklahoma, Liberty and Central Michigan to Condron Ballpark this weekend for the NCAA Gainesville Regional.

The Gators will host a regional at Condron Ballpark next weekend as one of the top-16 national seeds in the NCAA Tournament, the selection committee announced on Sunday night.

The Gators defeated Alabama 11-6 thanks to Nick Ficarrotta's career day on the mound. They'll play Texas A&M in a semifinal game that is scheduled to begin at approximately 5:30.

The Gators broke out of their team-wide offensive slump on Friday, erupting for seven runs on 10 hits in the first six innings of the game. They held on to defeat Arkansas 7-5 and earn a date with either Alabama or Texas A&M on Saturday.

Texas A&M dominated the Gators in all aspects of the game on Thursday to deal UF a 10-0 mercy-rule loss. Florida will try to stave off elimination against Arkansas on Friday morning.

The Gators won a wild SEC Tournament opener over South Carolina, 2-1, on Tuesday night thanks to 8 1/3 dominant innings by Brandon Sproat and a walk-off sacrifice fly by Colby Halter.
